M.I.A. is set to return with her seventh studio album, M.I.7, due out April 17 through her independent label Ohmni Music. Marking a fully self-directed release, the project signals a major creative shift, blending personal reflection with spiritual themes.

Described as a “gospel record rooted in prayer, the Book of Revelation, and the Ark of the Covenant,” M.I.7 reflects M.I.A.’s evolving relationship with Christianity. Created under a unique concept, the album was written across seven locations—including Ethiopia, Egypt, India, London, Australia, and Los Angeles—over the span of just seven days. It features contributions from Sunday Service and introduces listeners to its lead single, “Everything.”

Although framed around seven core songs, the release is structured into a broader 16-track experience. It also continues ideas introduced in her recent singles, including “Armour” and “SAFE,” which similarly draw on Biblical imagery.

This spring, M.I.A. will also join Kid Cudi on his “Rebel Ragers” North American tour, running from late April through June.
